Why do ppl use saw instead of saws and chopping tools?

I strongly prefer folding Buck saws or Swede saws over folding pruning types.

Have you used any of the really coarse tpi pruning blades, 4.5 tpi or better with large gullets? There are some really nice ones I would like to try :

I also like to try one of the custom swede saw blades[size=-1] Gaston Duperré makes.
