why do you collect knives, esp buck knives?

I am a user, not a collector. I've been using Buck knives since the late 60's. I use other brands as well, but I still have a particular fondness for all things Buck.

I have 15 or 20 Buck knives and I do take them out and handle them and I like them because they usually remind me of somebody who had or has used one and usually gives me good memories of that timeline in my young days. I also like the brushed stainless look which is nearly the same on most models. Remembering the awesome displays they used to put up at the department stores with all of the black and aluminum/stainless fixed blades, and the assortment of 300 series laying against the reddish maroon crushed velvet lined display box with individual round white identification tags next to each knife displaying it's particular model and nomenclature. The wood and brass 110's and 112's and the similar pattern with the fancy silver engraved handled lock backs and how the stainless blades gave off such a luster with an obvious razor sharp edge against the display backing...... to much to resist....:)
