Why do you keep buying knives????

After thinking deeply about this question and coming up with no good answer, I hereby proclaim before God and man that I will buy no more! There! I said it! I feel as though a great and ponderous weight has been lifted from my shoulders! Come on in boys, join me!!!

Why do we have to define reasons for every affliction we come across???

Nothing wrong with a nice hobby. I had to buy and sell a lot to find (my definition of) "perfection". I think I've found it which is good because I can't take much more.

i do not know what knife/knives i want EXACTLY now.
so i keep buying and try to find the one i need.:D

I always have a feeling that it's my behavior disorder calling when I'm buying knives. :(

But, who cares. The more the merrier !

Thombrogan called it-I keep buying because they keeping making knives that appeal to me.

Okay, I keep buying them for some unknown reason. I have gone to www.webmd.com but can find no disease listed for the symptoms I display.

The funny thing is that I really only carry one or two knives, those being either the Cold Steel Recon-1 or the MOD Hornet. Both are plain edged.

The other knives of which there are many, sit in my knife drawer or my gun safe. To be played with and admired.

So why do I keep buying knives that really don't get used? Does anyone else suffer from this affliction?

Maybe I can start a group KAA (Knife-Aholics Annonymous), what do you think?

HAPPY NEW YEAR

My psychologist says it is because of feelings of inferiority reguarding penis size, combined with a general fear of intimacy and abandonment,

and my grandmother didn't like me.

I thought I was cured when I got my Sebenza...

NOT

I just don't know why one isn't enough...and the things is, I like to see the new stuff and it takes ages for a knife to get into a brick & mortar store here, so I better buy them of the Internet, and sell them if I don't like it (doesn't happen very often...)

List for 2004 is: Spyderco Paramilitary - Navigator II - Executive - Hunter - Jester/Photon combo - ...

It's the story behind the knife that fascinates me. Usually it's the maker himself or herself. The tale of his struggle, his passion, his journey to seek near-perfection in steel, and his undying quest to produce the best for recipients of his creations.

I find such dedication of knifemakers utterly captivating. It tells of their hard-won battles against frustration, boredom and endless hours of loneliness in their sometimes dimly lit workshops, and finally a knife that says it all.

I like to own a piece of that kind of devotion to the craft by an unknown and an unheralded knifemaker. Perhaps he will rest easy at the end of the day, knowing someone like me faraway appreciating his hardwork and dedication. And I will silently drink a toast to his good health and continued success.

I keep buying Balis because I like to flip them, plus with the typhoon youu can make many different styles of the same knife. Very Cool :)
