Why do YOU love your Hinderer?

I've always liked the looks of Hinderers, but up until lately I had no interest in getting one, and now here I am on the search for one  . So I want to hear from all you guys that have XM18's and XM24's and use them! What is it about your Hinderer that keeps it around and in your pocket? What do you love about it?

I have an xm-18 3.5 and a xm-24, both are spanto grind flippers. I've had many other high end knives and I always end up coming back to my hinderers. They are tough as nails, it is very evident that they are hard use knives that are meant to be used and abused. Hinderers are very ergonomic and just melt into your hand. They have butter smooth action and fly open eith very little effort. If you hold a hinderer side by side with almost anyother knife take a look at the craftsmanship and the fit and finish. The standoffs, screws, pivot, etc are all unparalleled in quality, function, and beauty. Plus they are made in the USA by a company that has excellent customer service and that supports our troops, police, firefighters, and first responders. I think that that in itself says a lot about their company. It is really hard to put into words. Once you handle one you will understand. The first time I touched my 24 all other knives in my collection became obsolete. I will eventually sell off my collection of crks, Emerson's, strider, and etc to fund my hinderer addiction. Get one immediately is my suggestion and you will see what the hype is about.

Yes, indeed a page could be filled and the bottom line is as stated.
The entire package is what moves the emotion from that of like to Love and admiration.
In this day and age to be able to have and own something that simply does not let you down - ever.... is a wonderful thing.

I'd say, in addition to all of the great attributes of the knives themselves, it seems (I've never met either gentlemen so I have to base this off of reputation and secondhand observation) that Rick and Rob are class acts and this is reflected in the core constituents of RHK supporters. In the short time I've been frequenting this forum I've been really impressed by the folks here. You all are a refreshing contrast to some of the other areas of BF...

It's interesting to hear the connection you guys make with your XM's. I've always been a big CRK fan, and I love my Sebenza's and other CRK's, and a couple of them have a lot of sentimental value to me. But, I really do admire how the XM's are made, by Americans, for all the hard working Americans out there.

And like many of you, I also avoid most areas of BF heh. I'm quite active in the CRK subforum, but little else. However I do see myself frequenting this area far more often in the coming months as I continue my search for my perfect XM18. 3" flipper with grey or orange. :D

Welcome. Good luck with the search. Maybe want to update your WTB to include your "just mentioned" quest.

To me, my CRK's are to collect and trade, my Hinderers are to use.

Spanto or slicer? If you're hunting a Spanto, be prepared to hunt and to pay when you do find one. Slicers are easy to find, I've bought 2 in the past week.

Rubicon- Good idea, I'll do that now.

Lone-Wolfe- I'm looking for a slicer. Did you get yours on here or toxic green?

I have a xm 18 3.5 spanto, I love it, solid, keeps a great edge, with a very small adjustment it flips like a champ.
The 18 3.5 is the perfect size for me, I would love a 24 with a slicer, we will see if Santa brings me one.

For the most part I do carry around a 3.5" or larger blade daily, as I carry a large 21 most days. But I think the 3" XM18 would be the perfect size for my EDC purposes.

I went on the hinderer site, and they have a list of authorized dealers, I got mine for a good price new. Prices fluctuate between different dealers.

Lone-Wolfe- I'm looking for a slicer. Did you get yours on BF or USN? I'm not a paying member at USN, so I don't get to browse the cove.

Within 5 days of each other I got an XM on each of the 3 forums, here, red, and green. I can't remember where I got the 3.5", the other 2 were 3".

Krav- I've been monitoring sites, but none of them have the configuration I'm after, I think I found one site with it and they wanted far too much. My brother is active duty, and I'm considering asking him to order direct from Hinderer for me, but I'm not sure if that'd be considered an "abuse" of Rick's kind offering to active duty.

Lone Wolfe- I'll definitely keep scouring the various outlets, thanks.

If a direct order is immediately flipped, that behavior is not favored by all. If someone buys an item it is then theirs and that's that.

Would it be alright if I had my brother order it, and simply paid him back the exact value? I don't plan on flipping it, mainly just trying to make use of a nice connection if possible.
