Why do you rotate your EDC knife?

I'm not talking about switching what you carry when you get a new knife, but when people have a different knife for each day of the week (or something like that).

I rotate my knives basically just to switch it up a bit. I have a ton of favorite knives, so instead of carrying 10 on my person, i just switch it up a little bit.

I don't rotate. I just choose the knife that would be best for what I'm wearing or doing that day.

I don't have a set rotation order. Unless I have a specific need for a particular knife, I just carry what strikes my fancy that day. I like to give all my knives some pocket time so I change my daily carry very often.

If you go to YouTube you find a person called DarkChild57. I believe that he has a different knife for everyday of the year. That being said I use a CS Rajah III as my everyday beater. Periodically I will change for variety or based on the task at hand..

I don't have a set rotation. I carry whatever appeals to me most that day. Sometimes I carry the same knife for a week, sometimes for a few hours.

I carry the same ZT 0301 and Leatherman Wave all the time...No changes for me.

Doesn't having a "rotation" kinda defeat the term EVERY DAY CARRY. If you switch the knife you carry every day then it's not an EVERY DAY CARRY knife.

I carry different knives depending on where I am going. For work, I carry my beater Sanrenmu 710. For school, I carry something small. Everywhere else, I carry a small Buck Vantage unless something else catches my eye that morning.

Mine usually depends on work, at home or just out n about. Other than that sometimes feel guilty when I look at all of em. Lol

My weekday EDC set can be slightly different from my weekend one.

For weekdays I carry a knifeless multitool and a 3" folder. If I need to pick up the little one at school, I just leave the knife in the car and still have a lot of useful tools with me.

In the weekend I sometimes switch it up with a multitool with a wood saw and serrated knife, especially when I'm going outdoors. The knife I pick tend to be longer and beefier.

If I'm going to do some food prep at work (like making my own sandwich) I bring a longer folder.

I guess you can call it DC. Whatever is on me on any given day is my Daily Carry.

Hello all, I EDC a 710 and 970. On occasion I'll switch to a more gentlemenly folder when I have to. The only thing I tend to switch out is my fixed blades.

My chinook 3 has tenure in my RFP. The clean knife I use mostly for food chores in my LFP is what changes depending on what I fancy. If I am going somewhere that I am sure will have some dirty chores, I usually carry one more knife in my LRP. Usually a SG endura or a recon 1.

I'm wityh SteelSnob and Knarfeng. I also change knife based on my mood. However I do also consider where I am going and that depends what shall I take with me.

I usually carry far more conservative combination in big cities which have had problems with blades rather than this area where knives are still considered mostly as tools. Victorinox soldier + penknife (Buck companion or Case equal would be ideal combination for me in big cities)
