Why do you wear the watch you do ?

I could think of some soltuions to most the problems except the blood & other fluids but that would also depend on if it matters if the watch gets it vs the the band. I could see going through bands and using NATO/ZULU style bands and get a solid heavy duty inexpensive watch with sapphire display. I think you could get a solid watch with a sapphire display for $150 range IIRC and the bands tend to run $5-$20 each which is about what you pay now.

It was a congrats to me when I went to work as a machinist back in 04? I think.

Not my pic.

I do construction if the bezel is anything but metal I wear it down to the glass. Every crevice gets paint/spackle/sealed/tar in it. Glass gets scratched so fast you can barely see through it. I also do firefighting so if a watch gets exposed to blood or other secretions I just throw it out. Plus I rip straps all the time throwing bunker coats and packs on and off tends to catch watches and tear them right off. So my watches take a beating even if I did get a better watch If I were to wear it anywhere but work it would look trashy. So I have 12$ watched for work and nicer ones for leisure.

Same boat here. I wear a Casio Tough Solar. Its basically a smaller solar powered G-shock. Not too huge so I don't catch it on stuff, plenty tough to survive all the bumps and scrapes I give it, and waterproof I don't have to take it off to scrub gunk off my arms. Plus, being solar powered, batteries will theoretically never fail.

MSRP is $400, the sale is for $59 including shipping. Received a tracking number within an hour. Can’t afford too expensive of a watch so we’ll see how this works out.
Been wearing a Swiss Army Victornox & a Casio G Shock for 20 years! Not my photos, & no affiliation.
