Why does it seem that GEC usually reserves ebony for the Tidioute models?

Specifically with Tidioutes, I prefer the satin blade finish and non-dimpled bolsters. I can take or leave the bolsters being lined. I do like the long pulls though but kind of prefer drawn swedges over cut ones so that usually means a nail nick instead.

I don't mind the Northfields' dimpled bolsters as much as many seem to, and usually like the lines. I greatly prefer satin blades, however, and am grateful that my Northfield White Owl arrived with the same. Here it is, new:

Satin blades are plenty shiny enough for me, don't show scratches as readily, and are much easier to photograph without inadvertently including places, parts, and portraits. ;)
