Why Doesn't EKI Sell PB Washers?

Why should they stock parts that they don't use on their products? Do you go to a Ford dealer and complain because they don't have Hyundai parts??
 
I'd like some Kryptonite washers for those Super Villain attacks. ;)

Seriously, some things are better left "aftermarket". EKI is EKI, and should remain so IMHO.

Your logic is quite irrelevant. It's not like he's requesting kvt or something owned by another company. Just simple phosphor bronze washers.

Hey, they are just asking. The mentaility of this forum is just fine I assure you. You never wondered why EKI doesn't stock something? The washer idea is to accomodate those who like to change up their knives. That's all.

I've seen videos where people take the nylatron washers out right away and call them plastic washers and believe it is a cost saving measure by EKI to put them in all their knives. Which we know is just not the case. If you remember Ernie saying that everything about his knives is purpose driven and look into why nylatron is used, it makes a lot of sense.

I've tried different washers and in my experience the nylatron works better. Some may have different opinions and desire a different washer. To me that's cool. Whatever works for you.

There is nothing wrong with starting an interesting thread and asking a question. Especially with a great resource like EmersonRep here.

But always remember when modding or pimping, Ernie knows best when it comes to his own knives.
 
I think instead of washers they should sell colored scales .... I'd pay $60-80 for a set of digi-cam scales for my horseman...

No, but they do sell "Ford Racing Performance" parts, or whatever they call their Ford rebranded cold air intakes and exhaust systems.

Kind of like EKI sells pocket clips with skulls on it, and similar stuff that "they don't use on their products".

Agreed, and if I were jumping from a plane, into the ocean, then swimming ashore to cut stuff, I'd leave my knife alone. Actually, I might leave it alone even though I don't do any of that stuff...
 
I have tried PB washers in a couple Emerson knives and always ended up going back to stock.

I think anybody who believes they are dramatically smoother is experiencing the well known placebo effect...... :-)
