I have got a northfork from the hunt line and I think its a great knife for edc, super smooth action and a great size why don't more people like it?
I am not a hunter but I don't see the northfork as a dressing knife, its to small and the same with the hidden canyon, what do you guys think?

I've actually thought about getting a northfork. How to they carry in pocket? Got pics?

I don't have any pics but it carries very well, the lanyard hole is positioned just right so that if you decide to put a lanyard on doesn't get in the way.

Oh and mine came with the pocket clip not touching the scale but it was easily fixed by taking it of a bending it a little. Also if you would want to put a deep carry clip on it for some reason the screws they put in it were not long enough and the threads stripped. Hope this helped!

I like mine for occasional carry. If I need a smaller folder for some reason, it's one of the ones I go to. I've read from some folks that they don't like the slight recurve in the blade, but I carry an Emerson mini-Commander on occasion, so it's not enough to bother me. I'd consider t a nice alternative to a mini-Grip. The overall size is nearly the same but the Northfork is G10, S30V, and open construction. And there's more usable real estate on the handle of the North Fork than there is on the mini-G because of the different handle profiles.

Wondered the same,, no press on the Hunt series. I have a north fork in g10, wanted wood. Have a small summit lake on the way!

I've also got a g-10 northfork and I love it. It's in my edc rotation. I agree that most people are probably turned off by the recurve but I think it fits the knife well.

I do not mind the re curve either, but I wouldn't have minded just a simple drop point.

Love that blade on the Northfork. I am not sure why BM's HUNT line gets less attention. Just like the HK line it is still a Benchmade so if I could buy more knives I would buy a Northfork or Grizzly Creek. Both look nice.

Since most the Hunt series appears to me to be reworked Bone Collector models without D2, I just wish they'd of kept the thumbholes.

Look at the Mountain Skinner and compare it to the Survive 4.1, which is a knife they cannot keep in stock. Benchmade had a real opportunity to go head to head with Survive on this design and missed. It was those little changes that hunter hunters hate on a knife they stop the Mountain Skinner from being a blow out success. It makes me wonder a bit if they have any hunters on staff. They made slight changes to some of the other hunt series but didn't take them far enough.

They had a real winner in the the Loan Wolf series had the upgraded the materials and let the design alone. What did BM do? They discontinued it before people could sort out what the properties of the metal they use were compared to favored blades.

The fixed blades and "traditional" folders are just rebranded Bone Collector series, but the North Fork and Grizzly ones are very different.

I own a Survive! GSO-4.1 in M390, and the Benchmade Hunt fixed blades can't come close to it.

I like mine, and it carries well. That, and it doesn't scare the sheeple as much as some of my bigger folders. ;)

I have handled the survive 4.1 and it is indeed a very nice knife.
While I have three Benchmade fixed blade knives, I have never purchased a fixed blade from the Hunt series.
I do believe the O.P. (TFS) had the folders in mind when he posted this thread.
The Northfork is quite a nice knife for EDC in my opinion, and as mentioned is very smooth in action and use. :)
