WHy don't they get the recognition that others do???

some custom knives occasionally are in movies/books/etc and thus are lusted after by lotsa folks who wouldnt usually even want a knife, i think the rogue warrior books by marcinko did a helluva lot to popularise emerson customs, and the demand sent the prices thru the roof, lotsa makers are simply not as well known thus the demand for there stuff is lower and also the prices.

lotsa good makers dont have a high demand for there stuff allan elishiwitz comes to mind he makes a helluva knife but the demand just isnt there thus the low prices compared to say emerson/mayo/onion/ryan/etc.

to be high demand ya gotta have something to get your name out above all the other hundreds of smiths.

one reason why it amazes me that some smiths seem to have no worries at all about there reps for customer service and stuff like that, there are so many good smiths around ya would think they wouldnt wanna alienate any prospective buyers. go figure.
