Why don't they have more glow in the dark knives?

THAT'S OKAY. WE TRY TO BE SENSITIVE TO OUR ELDERS' NEEDS HERE. SINCE YOU'RE FROM THAT ERA, I'LL TYPE REAL LOUD SO YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME. ;) :D :p

Sorry, couldn't resist. To be honest, I miss those days. Got my first couple of knives back then.

HA! :D

I'll bet the reason your 1970's key fob glowed so well was because they used toxic stuff that has been banned from the market for the last 30 years! I had a great Timex watch that had a tritium backlight when I was in high school, but I haven't seen anything like that on the market in years. Of course I was walking around with a beta emitter strapped to my wrist, but I'm still here 30 years later.

Not everything was better back in the day, but a lot of things were.

A tritium bead on a lanyard is about all that I can handle as far as GITD on a knife goes. The only exception is my Victorinox Rescue which I keep in my car.

Saw some glow in dark para cord (non-550) at REI the other day - didnt buy any yet, as i was shopping with the wife...

They make glow in the dark condoms. Get a package or two of those and slip one over your knife at night.;)

What if there knives were bigger than other guy's knives. Would they have to use Magnum's?:p

There's a guy on the forums that makes it. . .ME

The green glow dust I use will easily go all night with a good charge.

I have some stuff on hand (link in sigline) and some other new unlisted stuff

Email me if interested.

You could also just use GITD paint. I used some of that as a prank for one of my buddies on an airsoft rifle stock he asked me to camo. Pattern worked great during the day, and did a good job breaking up the outline of the gun. But when the sun went down...

Boker has some German made GITD knives

I've made a few glow in the dark knives.

The main problem is that the material is expensive, and a lot of work if you want to make your own.

A little bit of glow paint from glowinc makes this possible:

Too much ambient light + crappy camera = poor color rendition, but it is quite good-looking in person, a lot more green than it looks in the picture

I think it would be nice to have a good selection of swiss army knives or camp knives that glow in the dark. Maybe Kershaw could do a test run with their Antelope/Bear hunter line.;)
