Why I like these 3 so much (not U.S. made)

I like that selection, simple, timeless and satisfying to use and look at. The Opinel has always had strong appeal too, based on those grounds.

As a European, I think the equivalent American knife for me would be a Barehead Slimline Trapper in Delrin. Light, inexpensive and a lot of credible blade.

The Sodbuster type is also a strong US contender even if it is derived from similar German knives. My own favourite by a long-chalk, is this Queen Cutlery country Cousin. Again, light in weight, very durable (and visible), good pointy tip in D2 at bargain cost:thumbup:

hi there just like to show you the mercator I aquired just recently.possibly dates to ww2 lovely knife light weight and simple. should imagine quite effective in use.
