A few days back i inquired in the snark thread about trading for a good axe. I am heating with only wood this winter due to having some financial issues, but i have been in a situation lately that doesn't allow me to afford buying an axe. Now i do own a couple small boys axes, but with the amount of wood i will need to keep my boys warm this year, they would have been less than optimal. So, i gathered some off my gear together, and started inquiring on finding a trade for a good axe.
I chose the snark thread first because i figured some of those folk, at the very least, be able to point me in the right direction. It wasn't long till i started getting responses and private messages giving suggestions. Psyop chimed in and suggested i give Col Defender a yell. He said that Col was an axe hoarder, and more than likely would what i needed.
I sent a PM to him, and shortly revireceivedeply. The Col said that he did have a few good options, and wanted to know what items i had to trade. Just to be honest, what i had wasn't much. He replied back and it was obvious he really had no use for my junk, though he never said it that at all, and was extremely polite. I thanked him, and apologized for wasting his time, and sat in on finding a new direction our less on a good axe
Now the fact its, its late in the year, and I'm already behind on getting the amount off wood I need, so i had pretty much just decided i was going to have to sell some stuff that its dear to myself and my boys, and just buy a new axe.
Then a little while later i received another PM Col Defender. It said:

"Hi Brandon - you have not wasted my time - you have given me an opportunity to help out a fellow Beckerhead. I just got off the phone with Psyop and we are going together on this little deal. Send me your mailing address and the double bit axe from yesterday's picture will be on the way to you. Psyop and I hope this small token will help with your current situation.

Our best to you.

Steve"

I was floored! Honestly, i wiped away a couple tears. Heck, right now as I'm typing this, I'm kinda overwhelmed.

That's the point of my post though, exactly what the thread title means, I am proud to be a Beckerhead! Those two guys don't really know me? They've never met me in their life. But they are compassionate enough, and care enough, too do this for a person that the only ties that have to them is being a Beckerhead. The beauty about it is that the whole community is that way. Every Beckerhead ive dealt with have those characteristics. I'm just amazed.

But without further ado, i have some pics to show off, as promised.

That's only about half of what i got done on Saturday, and I've got about 3 more cord ready to split as we speak. My boys will be warm this winter, and i owe it to Psyop and Col Defender.

Thank you guys, and thank you to the whole community.

Brandon

That made me cry a little, not going to lie.
This really is a great community, full of amazing, good hearted people.
Glad you got what you needed, thanks to a couple of awesome gentlemen.

Stuff like this always makes me happy. Good on them for being so awesome, and good luck with your situation!

Good show by all involved. Nice axe.

Definitely some good people around these parts. Best batch of folks I have found on the internet yet.

The Col and Psyop both are good people. The Beckerheads in general are! Good on you for doing what needs to be done too!

Nice!
Sweet classic double-bit too...
keep clear when pulling it free from a log.

Awesome story and good on psy and col. I love reading things like this....restores my faith in humanity.

Awesome story. Those two gents are great guys. And I've been around long enough to see you do some pretty cool things too, B. Its karma. I do love being a Beckerhead. Its a brotherhood.

Col. and Psyop, awesome stuff. Congrats Brandon, that's a sweet looking axe, glad it will come in handy for you and your boys. Definitely some good people around here.

My hat is off to those two gentlemen! Not only did they help you provide for your boys materially, but they provided a great example for the kind of character your boys should strive to emulate....

That's a great story! You guys definitely have a nice community here in this small corner of the internet.
Hmmm...I might have to pick up a Becker!

They're good people. That's for sure.

Thanks for that. We were not looking for a bunch of credit here. I have been the recipient of lots of good deeds and gifts from my friends here. I think what the guys and gals are saying is that most all of us here would do stuff like this. I am very proud to be a part of this community.
