Why is Kershaw CQC-4KXL D2 value so high?

I like my actual emersons and the kershaws emersons were decent budget value...considering emerson got a cut, im sure. the zt emersons were the best ever made and not too bad price wise compared to what pricing was around that time at benchmade and even the rest of the zts.

Some of his actual branded knives were also made elsewhere. But anyway, I digress!

These days, Emerson sells the most expensive $150 dollar knives imagineable. Fact is, I was a tremendous Emerson fan years ago. I am not these days for reasons that have nothing to do with the knives and I'll leave it at that. My commentary on those matters are searchable. ;)
was it because of this.....

I thought my my sub-$20 Kershaw Emerson was pretty good. My actual Emersons don’t seem all that bad price wise compared to a lot that’s out there with terrible ergonomics and questionable design choices. My ZT Emerson are the best of the bunch, IMO. I wish they’d do more.

Re: Iridium
Spear Point vs Reverse Tanto. They are both good. The Reverse Tanto can be thought of as a budget Bel Air XL.
Super Premium Versions: At what price is it super premium? They are available with upgraded materials at the $150 price level. The new button lock is around $180. Automatic satisfaction will set you back $170 or so. I have a regular Reverse Tanto and the automatic. Both are recent additions and they rock.
Kershaw has its act together with the Iridium, Bel Air and a bunch of recently released automatics.

It truly is one of KAI’s best knives they’ve ever released. Kinda wish ZT would release a few “hyper-premium” versions of the Iridium. Or wish Kershaw would release more special edition Iridium Duralocks.
I guess the only thing that could make me like it more is a non stainless super steel like M4 or K390.
