Why is my $1.50 Gillette Mach3 refill WAY sharper than my Northwoods?

I’m a huge fan of Gillette, the three blade designs are a top tier shaving system.

Now I'm getting confused. I bought a $3 gas station tactical operator folder. According to threads I've read a Bladeforums, this should be able to cleave boulders, passing the sub-micron edge between the electrons in the atoms, and inhibiting atomic fission through intimidation, but it won't even shave my beard! The free double-edged blades I get from the online shop for my safety razor are WAY sharper than the cheap alphabet steel in the Service Station Special Operator, high-speed, low-drag, mall-ninja, zombie de-animator. I may give up on knives, and start flaking old Coke bottles instead.
