Hello Everyone,

I'm very drawn to the Worker model for numerous reasons, all of which are subjective.
But I'm curious why you guys think the 2014 sprint run of the original worker is still on the market?
It's been over 2 years now, and that small sprint run is still in a lot of retail shops.
So what gives? Why haven't people been buying these up?!

I've contemplated , then hesitated due to the price .

If they ever make a FRN version in Hap40 , Superblue or ZDP189 and price it similar to a Sprint Delica they would sell like wildfire .

Overpriced like many other Japanese-made folders with VG-10 and G-10. Not too long ago, Massdrop offered a Delica4 with VG-10 and G-10 for $170 and there were not enough takers so it was cancelled.

I want a Worker. However I want an original. Tip down only stainless grip.

I've had my eye on it for a while but haven't jumped on it yet due to the price. Maybe eventually.

The price. It looks like it would feel much better in my hand than a delica, but that price...

Price seems to be the kicker. I have one and I like it, but it's more of a collection piece for me to have a reproduction of an original piece of Spyderco history (I don't have an original Worker). I have other knives that fit the out of work gentleman's carry role more effectively (Though I do still carry it from time to time because I like it), but my main carry usage tends to occur at work, and construction uses favour different size and design characteristics more in my experience. The Worker sprint is a great knife though...if you're teetering on the fence, I'd say go for it assuming that you aren't planning on abusing it on a construction site.

I believe it was zdp-189 but still a high price for that knife.

Well honestly from what i see it would be basically the following: its not eye candy to majority, its too $ for materials used. Honestly, it only requires one of them for a product not to sell well so not really surprised.

Then we would just buy the Delica no?

You're right. It was a ZDP Delica with G-10 initially at $200 which even after dropping to $170 didn't have enough backers.

There is no Delica with that shaped clip point hollow grind blade .
Sal went out of his way to create the Jazz Wharnecliff Delica .
Wouldn't it be cool to have a trilogy and have him add the worker shape blade to the Delica range .

I liked the handle in the hand when I handled it. It looks good too. But the edge was too thick and the knife was pretty expensive, especially in Europe.

Small? That was a 1500 piece run so definitely not small and IMO overpriced for what it is.

So 2 reasons..Over-produced and Overpriced.

Oh, and congrats on your second post in 10 years..:D
