Why is simple stuff so hard to find.

All I want is a frigging stepdown shaft adapter from 3/4" to 5/8" to mount a sanding disc on the drive shaft of my KMG. Seems to be plenty of larger steps like 3/4 to 1/2.

Am I missing something?

Try calling a local bearing distributor and tell them what you need. The major ones in your area are Applied Industrial Technologies and Motion Industries.
