Why is the center pin made of nickel silver?

Reese Bose posted a video on his Facebook page in 2019 on how he spins 316-L stainless pins. Pretty cool. Not for the faint of heart.
 
Just saw an old ad where they mentioned that the Arkansas Hunter had stainless pins. If that's the case I'd imagine that they used stainless pins on all the collab knives for consistency. That's just a guess though. I'm sure these larger factories can handle the job with no problems what with the automation and machining knowhow that they have available. Not like me with my homemade spinners LOL.
