Why is the Swiss Army classic, a "classic"?

Haha I guess more people use the scissors than I took into account for! Still love the Rally though!
Yep;)
Classic is always in my pocket. As the scissors are always handy and as said above discreet and don't cause concern when used.

My wife, mom, and dad all have a classic on their keys and use them regularly (especially the scissors lol) The blade is a little small for me, so I keep another knife on my keys. I wish they made a keychain version of the money clip knife. The tools are a little bigger and I really like the lobster pattern.

I have a Classic, or a Rambler on every keychain I have( around 8 right now).

Scissors and tweezers are the only thing I use on mine. 3 or 4 of tgem are the Rambler with the driver/bottle opener, and I've gotten them for the driver but its only used once in like 5 years... Its just slightly too small to be useful very often. On those I still use the scissors more than anything but the tweezers.

I've wanted to build one for a while that's just the scissors and tweezers, but never get around to it.

Scissors are an indispensable tool, but the Micra’s are much better. SAK scissors are almost useless, and when the springs break they are completely useless. My Micra is always on me, so I can choose my SAKs without regard to scissors.
I love my micra and carried it in my pocket daily for years, but I have found that while the scissors are larger and everything Is more durable they don't cut nearly as well as the precise Victorinox scissors.
For stray stache hairs the classic is the winner and it's much smaller and lighter if the scissors are the main thing you need it for.

Theres something in either for everyone and I love both of them for sure, both are classic.

Great to see all the SAK Classic love being posted here!!!😍

Scissors are great if your lady needs a loose thread or a wild hair (her's or yours, nose or otherwise) cut.
If you go to cut a thread or hair with scissors, no one pays you any mind. Go to cut the same thread or hair with a knife blade ... Your lady, those around you, (and any LEO/Security with-in sight) may misunderstand your intentions.

My SAK of choice is the Huntsman, because of the scissors ... and the saw ... :D
Have you tried the new farmer X? Has scissors, saw and nice alox scales

I also use the small Vic scissors quite frequently, although mine are in an EDC Minichamp I switched to several years ago rather than a Classic that first showed me how useful the scissors were.

But I've not been very impressed with the scissors in larger SAK models. They don't cut nearly as well for me as the small ones in the Classic or Minichamp. Has anyone else experienced this, or might it be due to the fact that my larger SAKs are almost always second-hand models I buy at gun&knife shows and have maybe been abused, twisted out of alignment, or something?
