Why isn't there more negative feedback for sellers that deserve it?

Replied to a post regarding a maker that took far to long to make a knife, and felt like I jacked the thread a bit so I've edited this part out and started a new post since I'm genuinely curious as to why people won't leave bad feedback in either profiles or the GB&U.

This is a big WTF for me - the guy in the post I refered to has a positive feedback rating well over 30, and no negative feedback at all. How the hell does that happen? This isn't the first thread in GB&U re. this guy, and there are comments from other members in the thread that haven't created a post of their own but concur with what this buyer said. However, the maker has no negative feedback, and there are many like him. I'm sure there are plenty of others that got the same shaft and just said f'it and didn't post anything at all as well.

So tell me enlightened BF denizens, why don't people leave negative feedback in either profiles or on GB&U? A lot of members don't seem to use GB&U but just feedback, and the opposite as well, but why is everyone so slow to call people out?

I'm not talking the package was delayed, or there was a hiccup that was straightened out. I'm talking straight up people get screwed in deals by members here (not scammers) and they will still either leave neutral or no feedback. I think discretion should be used of course, but don't folks realize that by not calling out these guys they are leaving their fellow BF members hanging? Pretty much what this forum and feedback ratings are for.

So many posts in GB&U about not using the search function when people have a bad experience, but if the people who have gotten screwed don't say anything then all the search in the world won't help the next victim....

This is mainly directed at people who have been victims but haven't left feedback, and may die a slow death here, but again - WTF? I really am curious as to why this is.

Alright, off to find another windmill to tilt at.

In general members try to avoid being overly negative and are rather tolerant. They are doing this to have fun. Couple this with the restrictions on when feedback is alowed. Lastly GBU thread can often turn around on the OP unless they are on very solid ground. Unless it is a very serious situation ,most are going to choose just to move on.
Ultimately each individual has to decide if the situation warrants going negative.
But there certainly have been cases where long term members with perfect feedback get called out, and we have soon found that many others have also had problems.

Spot on Peter,

I have tempered reviews because I don’t want to :poop: on a guy for a bit of miscommunication, and the only reason I am here is for fun. You should be on solid ground, and it should be in cases of serious issues, but like Brummie said in his last post, and to my point, I think there is a responsibiliy to inform our fellow members (of both good and bad), otherwise why have feedback ratings and the GB&U?

Many of the negative threads you'll see the transaction didn't take place through Blade Forums so it isn't possible to leave feedback. They are post to bring attention to a situation to warn others and many times trying to gain support/pressure on someone who repeatedly has not kept commitments.

Not saying you're wrong or that it doesn't happen - and I know I definitely don't see all of the GB&U posts made, but I haven't ever seen one started here re. a transaction that was about an issue on another site or forum.

Having said that, I'm specifically curious about why people don't leave feedback for BF transactions where they truly get done dirty here but still won't leave a warning for BF members.

I have a feeling there is no one size fits all, and this may never be answered to my or anyone else's satisfaction. Blues Blues , if I'm beating another dead horse here and this has been overly covered per the one from earlier re. scammers, then feel free to deal with it in the same manner and smack me with a wet noodle for not searching harder.

I haven't kept up with the thread and only just now see that you tagged me to it. However, since you've apparently already closed it, I'll just let sleeping dogs lie and leave it closed.
