why liner locks?

I was wondering ... why did the Strider guys choose a liner lock for their folders, as opposed to a frame lock, for example? Is the liner lock felt to be strongest? easiest to field strip?

This isn't meant as a criticism. I'm just curious.

Have you seen the AR/GB first-hand? The liners are so thick that it's almost like having a frame lock with scales.

I have seen an AR, and the whole thing is massive. I was just wondering why they chose a liner lock for their folders, instead of something else. They must have had a reason.
