why men carry knives

I carry a knife for the menial things that crop up that require simple cutting. Pretty boring stuff, but it comes in handy. Been doing it since I was a kid. About 50 years now. I never had to kill zombies, rescue people, defend myself or any of that interesting or fictional crap. I must lead a boring life. Thank God for the embellishers here to show me the true value of the mighty knife. I just like them and don't need to make shit up to validate my hobby.
 
Because they are useful tools. I use knives every day.

At my former job, one of the biggest ironies was when the woman who reported me to my boss for carrying "dangerous locking knives" would then later on a regular basis ask me to open a box for her. I politely declined, and watched her try to open the boxes with her keys.
 
Because being prepared is something women can appreciate, even when they don't know how to do it.
 
Some of you are about as dumb as a bag of hammers.
