Why no Benchmade forum?

They have their own forum on Benchmade.com.

Any problem with having another one at BF?

benchmade forum went through a period of moving and hiding posts and threads that were uncomplimentary. Are they over that stage? I don't know, but BF is pretty rough and tumble.

Spyderco has their own forum on their site too, but they still have one here.

Maybe if people keep asking them someday they will. We would certainly be happy to host a forum for them.

Back when I frequented the Benchmade forum, the company had almost zero participation. Every once in a great while, they would make an announcement, but that was about it. They didn't seem to moderate or even care. It was just a place for the fans to hang out and tell each other how great their knives were. Not at all like the Spyderco forum where the boss himself gets involved.

Things could have changed a lot, though. I haven't visited that forum in over a year.

It's unfortunate Benchmade won't run an open forum here, especially since this seems to have 'turned off' some potential end-users.

I'd like to see them try again.

This needs to be added to the FAQ - and now it has been!
