While doing some home improvements I've been buying home stuff.. and happened to notice the magazine racks. No "Blade". So, why not? Seems like it would be a good market, to spur some interest in the masses. What do you think? .. couldn't hurt, just wonder why it's not there, what the reasons, since you can read about everything else, including how Brittney Spears is handling rehab..

What does it take to get a knife magazine in a national chain like that? I think Borders, Barnes & Nobles carry "Blade",. but i don't know of anywhere else.

I would like to see them just get the mag to my house! I paid for a script 2 months ago and have nothing from them.

I don't know the reason that WalMart doesn't carry them, but some stores don't carry knife and gun magazines so that they don't upset the people that think those magazines are inappropriate. In other words, they are being politically correct.

Azis, Blade mag is now being shipped from a different location and they are having some problems. Call and raise hell and you should get one really soon.

Blade printed an extra 20,000 for Walmart a few months ago but I never saw one at our local store. Blade would like to have the mag in all stores, so we have to blame Walmart if it's not there.

I have been receiving mine on a regular bassis. On time and no missed issues.

wait ...why should I as a new subscriber have to raise hell to get the mag? Thats not good no matter how you look at it. :thumbdn:

I was having problems getting my magazines. I called and raised hell two months in a row when they didn't send me one. It took them two to three weeks to get a replacement out to me. I just received a renewal notice from them, but they wasted a stamp.

I had the same problem. Three times during my only year of subscribing I had to contact them about magazines that didn't show up. Twice I got the next months magazine before I got the replacement for the one that hadn't shown up.

So maybe this thread should get moved to the bad and ugly this looks like its not just me that the company is a screw up

Yea, like Heather's book store chain. But she still allows them to carry High Times (promotes drug use) and INK (promotes self-mutilation).

(note: all dopers and tats collectors - don't waste your flames - I was using this example in the pluperfect subjunctive. ;) )

Really? Do they carry porn too or is that non-PC aka Sheeple Cringing :D

Blade gets a bad wrap occasionally. But it's the best knife mag out there and I will continue to receive it, even if I have to call once or twice a year to get my subscription back on line.

My local walmart has Blade, I saw it there just yesterday. Whether they've always had Blade or this is their first I do not know.

Why would anybody object to it anyway? It's about knives for those interested in knives. What's bad about that eh???

I have had good luck with Blade, however I only got two copies the first year I subscribed to Knives Illustrated instead of the six. Blade’s pretty hard to beat in my opinion.

Maybe your local store isn't requesting enough issues? I live 10-15 minutes from a few different bookstores, one Barnes and Noble only orders 3-5 issues of each knife mag, citing lack of interest, and always winds up sold out.

I've been subscribing to Blade and Knives Illustrated for at least 10 years now. I've never had an issue not show up. Matter of fact, I get my blade issues at least two months prior to the month shown on the cover. For instance, I get May's issue in March or earlier. I've never had a problem at all.

Our Wally Workd had one copy a couple of months back in the rack located in sporting goods. But none at the mag. racks. It is the only copy I have ever seen there. (Killeen Texas) Mike
