all I know is when your surviving in the tropics in the jungle a machete is the best tool you can have, they are better than knives, hatchets and any other tool for this environment. When im in the jungle I carry an esee light machete and it does the job well, I would feel naked without it. If I could have only one survival tool it would be the light machete
