Was there any particular reason S30V was chosen for the RT over SR-101 or something else? Just curious as I anxiously wait for mine to show.

I would guess for the corrosion resistance in areas that you cannot clean in a folder, like pivots, etc. Folders aren't meant to be tough so S30V is adequate for the job.
