Why S30V in the Rat Trap?

Was there any particular reason S30V was chosen for the RT over SR-101 or something else? Just curious as I anxiously wait for mine to show.

My guess would be that they chose the best steel for the knife's intended application. Those guys in the Ohio swamp, they gots smarts like that.

I would guess for the corrosion resistance in areas that you cannot clean in a folder, like pivots, etc. Folders aren't meant to be tough so S30V is adequate for the job.
