I bought a Swiss Champ in 1982 while working as a geologist in the Rocky Mountains. It has done more things than can be believed. Among them-
*Performed minor surgery on a roughneck with an embedded metal splinter using the small blade and tweezers. Made a friend for life...
*Removed several rearsides of cactus thorns while out in the desert
*Cut a lock off a logging trailer using metal saw when key was lost
*Scissors constantly in use
*Awl has been used regularly for wood, leather, and plastic
*Wood saw has done close quarters cutting in home remodeling jobs
*Adjusted difficult iron sites on 308 rifle in the wild
*Opened many wine bottles on mountain hikes with cork screw
*File works well for shaping various materials
*Skinned a number of rattlesnakes
I still have that original Champ and it's still in service but my knew One Hand Trekker is my new favorite.
