Why so little love for TOPS?

There simply aren't many designs that I truly like. Their design process is the equivalent of Cold Steel's marketing and I think it turns people off.
There's a lot of designs where I wonder how much thought went into it or how much input the designer actually had because they're so radical and/or impractical.

yep... some of them look like doodles you'd find on a 10 year old's schoolbooks while he's dreaming about what a mega cool knife would look like. it's perfect for any green beret who only uses it to punch through doors since it's only comfortable in one grip configuration. thank god it's "149% all Man" or whatever the "real men" of the advertizing pages write. take your pick... they have almost all of the sayings that have come out of army boredom.

p.s. they still have some great designs once you look past the gadgets
 
I love TOPS Knives! I am a Big fan of them ever since I bought my TOPS Condor Alert knife some years back!! Git the TOPS MAX Punisher right afterwards. But I actually found that one a bit small for what it was meant to be used for. Plus it just did not fit the bill with me. So I actually sold it for $450 which was $250 more than what I had bought it for.

I recently bought the Anaconda 9.5" Hunter's point knife and now my newest member, the SXB Skullcrusher Xtreme Knife.

I got my eyes on the Armageddon as my next TOPS knife! And honestly, I am thinking about buying it right now as I sit here!! Either it or the Screaming Eagle, the one with the bigger, longer blade!! But time and thinking about it will tell all!! It always does!!

How is the anaconda hunter point? I'm looking for something kinda daggerish but thick (.25" inch thick) so it's viable as a batoning knife but it's able to slice down brush and leafy bushes in my way without feeling like I'm swinging a brick. Also where would I get kydex for them?
 
I don’t know what it is about Tops that makes me think license plate factory when I see any of their knives. ka-chunk ka-chunk ka-chunk, just made three more knives 😉
