so ive been looking at some more higher end knives as my collection grows and in every video ive seen they always have a spyderco knife. what is it about spyderco that people love? im kinda at a blank to be honest. the knife everyone recommends is the paramilitary2 or the endura and even recommend them over some amazing knives. is it the spydy hole or the handles? is it the treatment with the blades? the price? i have no clue! to me they seem like they are more bulky width wise and take up more room then lets say the benchmade griptillian. im sorry if this doesnt really make sense but im sure one of you guys can understand what im saying and tell me what there opinion is!

Incredible bang-for-the-buck, very high quality steel, and great customer service if and when you ever need them. IMHO, they are truly the best production knife at their price point.

Great knives with great customer service. I could go on and on but all I can suggest is buy one and see for yourself

well i know its not a SYDERCO i did mess around with a sogzilla by sog ( i know "eww") and i just couldnt get the hang of the hole opening.

Just gotta get one brotha :D. A moment in your hands will speak a thousand words on the forums.

ETA: This is the story for many people that are curious about Spydercos...

You get the point.

Honestly, I was first drawn to Spyderco due to the looks. I just thought the Delica and Endura were good looking knives back when I first got into knives in the mid 90s. Now let me say, I'm not a Spyderco collector. I currently own 2 Enduras, 3 Delicas, and a PM2. I think Spyderco makes a great knife, and the fact that Sal is one of the most stand-up guys in the industry helps a lot too.

My best advice is to buy one and carry it for a month and report back[emoji14]
I did just this. I'm only a few days in but I do like my new PM2. It definitely carries smaller/lighter in the pocket than the Griptilian. The blade is a lot sharper and the full-face grind on the blade gives it a small angle that cuts really well.

In Spyderco knives, form follows function. Once you appreciate the ergonomics and performance, the aesthetics fall into place. To put it in a much simpler way...they just work, and work incredibly well.

The PM2 was my first "good" knife. I've had 8 over 6 months and I still enjoy that blade but I'm enjoying flippers now. ZT056CF, XM18 3.5, ZT0770CF and a Southard.
With that said I have a BM grip on me now LOL.

Well said.

All I can really add is that they have quality products at nearly every price point.

I thought the same thing about Spyderco at one point, then I bought a one. Now I own several and I get it. Quality and function as others have said, and value in every category.

fantastic! im torn between the paramilitary 2 and the BM griptillian (mini or full). which one in a 100% honest opinion feels better, works better? i just have them for work (cutting boxes, rope, leather, etc) and i personally hate the endura look but the pm2 looks decent.

Most of the knives I carry on a daily basis are Spydercos, and everyone I work with says they are ugly.....but after they hold one in their hand and use it a little bit, the story changes. I've converted a few people already and the ones that don't carry one now will by the time I'm done with them.

Why Spyderco?

Because I have Kydex for my Endura and I love having empty pockets for my phone and Stockman.

The mini Grip is hard to beat.

Spyder hole grew on me fast. To me way better that a thumb stud. Full flat grind is amazing. My blades are done very well. Fit and finish is great. Great warranty. Big selection. I can keep going but just buy a endura and you'll see. For me the military shows off spydercos talent in making great knives.

can you flick open a spyderco as fast as one with thumbstuds? i mean ive handled a bm grip and loved the axis lock but i dont want to be biased and only want the better knife.

Yes, depending on the model they flick just as fast. Liner locks and compression locks flick like a dream. Their back locks don't flick quite as well. Not to say they don't flick well, its just not the same as other models.

Between a PM2 and Grip, "better" is more or less subjective and entirely personal. Same goes for thumb studs vs Spydie hole.

the one thing thats selling me on the pm2 is that i can literally customize EVERYTHING on it. like im looking at these blue glow in the dark spacers with micarta handles...i know i can do the same with the bm grip but the customs on the bm cost about the same as the knife itself...
