why spyderco?

i wear Mechanix Wear Winter Impact Pro gloves. i gotta have waterproof thick gloves for my work and when i wear my gloves i can not for the life of me close the knife or open it smoothly.

I wear Kevlar lined goatskin gloves with 200 grams of Thinsulate; they make your gloves seem thin (I've tried the ones you are talking about).

I don't have a Paramilitary, But my Military is super easy to open and close with them.
With those gloves on, almost no knife with a thumb-stud or thumb-disk can be opened, certainly not without great difficulty.

When I have those gloves on, it's Spyder-hole, flipper, or fixed blade.

Ah...that puts a damper on that then. Have you thought of trying one of the Salt knives? They have an extra large opening hole also to facilitate gloved use, and I also find my Tasman and Spyderhawk to be quite easy to use while wearing gloves. The backlock mechanism doesn't seem to be too much of a hassle with gloves, though from a self defence perspective the opening would be top priority.

I have been buying-selling-trading folders for about ten years....fixed blade skinners and filleting knives for decades...

I bought my first Spyderco earlier this spring..

Now I have six Spyderco's....

....

anyhow I would like to share that it is as if each model has it own personality....sounds a little far fetched perhaps....but when you hold a Spyderco knife, and use it, and then hold and use a different model...they all feel well thought out, extremely well built, comfortable and sturdy in the hand...get one or a couple and enjoy....

The Spyderhole, the Compression Lock, and the obsession (I'm gonna call it obsession) with making the best steel available at production prices.

yea but the military is illegal to carry in my state
