Why strip

Stripped , deramped.jimped, glass beaded..... knife, and scales....I was really sweating trying to stipple them, but the glass bead did a great job!!

Next.....gonna make some scales from Black Walnut.......

Dayum....whatta ya got... a machine shop or something? Did you do the bead blast yourself? Nice matchup on the jimping as well....I'm only slightly jealous...all except for the ramp. I like my ramp, it gives my thumb a little extra air to do fakies and back flips. :wink:
 
My Father was a machinist and after he retired, built a four bay garage to work in.
Most of the big machines are gone.....Bridgeport Milling machine, Hardage Lathe.....etc.
But have just enough to make myself dangerous!!!
El cheapo Harbor Freight sandblast cabinet.....does the job.
The ramp got in the way for me....to each his own, I guess....easier to baton, if you ask me..... Really, really like the scales now..... Forgot who else had done it, but if you have access to a sandblasted, I'd recommend it!!
