Why the belly on EDC knives?

I use an edc with belly much more often as it’s a little more versatile.

But I love me some wharnies too!

I guess this thread illustrates why pocket knives with multiple blade of different types are popular.

Indeed, who knows how many variations there are? And I'm talking about people.

One thing I like about a belly on a knife is that you can cut, holding the knife in many different angles
