why the carabiner with the Eka Swede 8?

I just got an Eka Swede 8 folding knife. I've seen this deal all over the web...it comes with a few bits for the fasteners, a nylon sheath, and a carabiner. Does anybody know what the carabiner is for? There's no lanyard hole on the knife or any other way I can see it to be useful.
