I swear Id own 500 knives if they all came with recurve blade lol

I know people don't like because if sharpening problems but why else do people hate on the best lookin blade shape

No hate here.

i don't see any hate on them, but I do wish more knives came with a recurve.

I think the sharpening thing is the only reason some people don't like them, I think they are pretty cool, you kinda get two different cutie surfaces in one knife

I am really happy to see this thread. I only have ever had one recurve, a SOG Visionary (also only SOG ever owned)
I am always left wondering why people don't LOVE this blade shape! I really like cutting with all that belly and the curve itself is brutal at cutting! Also they look cool!
I am terrible at sharpening all knives, but actually got ok results on this with the sharp maker.
I am currently saving for a Grayman Satu, in no small part because of the 8yrs of this sogs service.
... Oh wait. I have a cold steel rajah 1, I guess kukri is recurve. ..forgot cause it stays in the bag.
I might have to look into a fixed blade recurve?

Wow, Uluapark! Talk about recurve fix blade, are those Himalaya import knives? I want to try one but the classic material and ornate design always make me think they are not as tuff as modern material. Have you beat them?

I'm all about the recurve, I own the Ubr, super, jungle, and mini versions of the Emerson Commander and I have a CQC-15.

I like the subtle recurve on my Benchmade 710. It remains one of my best work knives.

As you say they are a pain (for me) to sharpen, and I think they are ugly/silly looking. I wouldn't call it hate, but since it is an opinion different than yours, it seems you would. I just don't like them.

I don't really see the point performance-wise on short blades like folders. (But they do look cool and "sexy" to many people. Straight lines are boring.)

Nor do I see any reason to hate on them as far as sharpening goes. Rods, narrow stones, etc... there are plenty of ways to deal with that.

If I like a knife a slight recurve isn't necessarily a deal breaker.

I don't like more than a 'slight' recurve. Nothing to do with sharpening, too much curve can be unsightly to me.

A CQC-15 is about perfect.

You realize you just said you like a knife style more for looks than practicality?

Although the traditional sheath design has issues sometimes, I highly recommend that everyone give a khuk a shot once or twice. Great chopper. Great froe. I have a low end one and I have beaten the snot out of it. Although I would like to replace the traditional handle with a more comfy one, I do like the weight-forward design (It took me a few years to admit that an axe was as good if not a better tool for some things since I loved the khukuri so much). And to make this post more relevant to the thread, the re-curve catches the material being chopped (like a hook) and seems to generate more force to blast through it all ;)

Not sure about a recurve on a smaller blade- no experience there. But I would be lying if I said I was a fella that didn't like some curves.

I have several recurves and like them a lot, especially for draw cutting. They aren't any more difficult to sharpen for me. As far as looks go, I choose function over fashion. I have a few knives with ugly ass blades, but they are cutting machines. The bottom line is personal preference. Blonde, brunette, red head, or other.

I think they look silly, and aren't any better than a regular edge. I sold/got rid of the recurved folders I have. I still have the Schempp Rock fixed blade, but thats it.
