Welcome tho the forum and congratulations and purchase of your new Izula!!! I'm not 100% sure, but you might be the first on the ESEE forum from Russia. Jeff's taking the the world one country at a time!

I think we all would really be very interested in knowing more about Russian knives and knife laws. Are you allowed to carry knives on you in public? If so is there a size limit and type? Again, welcome and keep posting so you can get your RAT Pack number, everyone in Motherland will be jealous!!!
Both of my neighbors are from Russia, they moved here about 15 years ago. They are absolutely some of the greatest people I have ever known! I don't know what it is but they all work in computers and are total IT geniuses, it's amazing!
Thank you for your kind words! With regard to our laws - roughly knives we are divided into 3 categories:
1. Knives are freely allowed to turnover are called Household. These are folding knives with blades up to 15 inches. Knives with automatic blade shorter than 9 cm for a fixed blade knives, a lot of nuances I will not dwell on them, it all depends on the type of handle, blade, blade tilt with respect to handle the hardness and thickness.
(For example, BM 151 apply to 2 points, but if he cut down a palm hand it will be treated to the first point, many have come).
2. Knives related to the cold arms - they are sold only to people who are hunters, they knocked out the number and they fit in their hunting license. If it is find a person who is not a hunter, a knife take away the owner fined.
3. Knives prohibited trafficking - Knives with automatic blade is greater than 9 cm, daggers with blades more than 5 cm, butterfly knives perpender. If they find police, they confiscated and the owner fined.
I described all fairly accurately, the law is very much detail, for example BM 42 is prohibited for circulation, because it relates to knives butterflies, but if he cut off the tip, it becomes legal.
Knives 1 category can be worn anywhere, sometimes in theaters or some government buildings are metal-seekers and the police can find him and not let the owner inside.
The main problem in Russia, the low competence of police officers, very often they can take legal knife banned, and then had to defend their rights. Fortunately, this happens infrequently.
