Why to or not to burn in blind tangs

So for strength purposes on stuff like FiF it causes ash in the handle and if you aren't careful about it the epoxy doesn't set to the wood causing a good amount of strength lost.
 
After I've burned a hole I mess around the hole with a chainsaw file. This way I get rid of most of loose material
