America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.
Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

deker said:Ok, I've heard tell of dry welding, but since you say you're doing it it's question time
Are you just doing really good surface prep, or are you using a can, or is there some other cool method?

Geeeeh!!! I only have four.ysforge said:I don't even want to think about how many forges are in my shop... but I will
1 main forge coal fired, used for most of my forging, and non-knife related welding (I'm a blacksmith who makes knives)
2 portable "face" forge, which has a conventional firepot, and a forge surface above the firepot. (coal fired)
3 rivet forge (coal fired) for traveling demos where I'm just going to be doing little stuff.
4 another rivet forge, for loan, or when I need 2 or more forges at 1 demo.
5 the "peach" vertical welding gas forge, I can also ramp it down to forging and heat treating temps, but because of the size of the chamber, not very ecenomical to do so
6 horizontal gas forge used for forging long stock under the power hammer 6" diameter chamber 16" long (usually blocked off at 12")
7 heat treating forge, it's horizontal, but with spaces built in for graphite "risers" (graphite is super heat conductive, and ensures a perfect atmosphere)
I also occasionally build other forges for certain things when I need them.
Well!!!! Since you mention it. HEHEHEHEHE!!!!ysforge said:What, are you saying I'm trying to compensate for something?![]()
