i wanted to know because i really like it.i think the carry system is good, and its a all around good knife to me.anybody know?

An educated guess (based on reading Sal's replies to these types of questions re: other knives that have been discontinued)
:they simply didn't sell well enough for Spyderco to continue with them.

We did have a number of requests for a Temperance with a longer blade and a non-FRN handle.

We're working on a design with a 5" blade and a micarta handle like the street beat.

There are still a few Temps out there for decent prices. . . I got one a month ago from someone on the evil auction site for about just over 70 bucks shipped.

I think that a lot of people were turned off of it because it doesn't have a full length tang. It still seems plenty sturdy enough for me though.

I actually find it to be a little larger than I would prefer. The Mule Team Knife is better for me size wise, but I still haven't found the time to put scales on and make a sheath for it.

The Temperance is too cool for school. I have four. I wish Mr. Glesser would come back to this thread and tell how its design came to be.

Something to do with cougars.

I know a little about it, but I'd rather not paraphrase.
