Okay pal. If bladeforums wants to be in the business of supporting lying, threatening, and physical violence they certainly can. That is their choice. As a member of this community I don't think they should but I am far from in charge. And yes, being a dummy who gets drunk with strangers to the point where you think they took your $ knife is absolutely stupid. He shouldn't have admitted this to anyone because it makes him look like a moron. If I were so stupid to get drunk with random strangers and then invite them to my house and leave them alone with my expensive weapons and said weapon got stolen I sure wouldn't come on here and tell anyone. That would be not very smart.

I have one question for you. Are you or are you not a felon and can you prove it one way or the other? You dodged this question quite effectively in another thread long ago when quiet asked. You obviously advocate lying and threatening to cover up your mistakes so it makes me think you might be sympathetic with the criminal mind. No need for another wall of text. Just a one word answer would suffice.

I agree, the OP in that thread made some very bad mistakes. And I commented on his mistakes in that thread. Regardless, as I said, I don't think anyone deserves to have their property stolen, no matter how foolishly they behave.

Yes, I am a convicted felon (wrongly convicted after an act of self-defense), though I don't really see how that's relevant here. I have spoken of my time in prison often on this forum, so it's certainly no secret, and not a topic I have ever "dodged" or tried to hide. I have also spoken in defense of the police on this forum many times. And I have also spoken of my disgust with criminals, just as I have in this thread (perhaps you didn't actually read my posts like you said).

I honestly don't see how anyone who reads this thread could say that I am sympathetic to criminals, since in this thread I have repeatedly advocated using every lawful means available to bring criminals to justice.

Funny thing is Esav, I lost interest in the original topic days ago and was completely willing to let it drop.

I only responded here when I felt that I was being accused of promoting "immoral" and "illegal" behavior on this forum, which could not be further from the truth. When faced with such accusations, I feel compelled to respond.

Again, I appreciate your participation in this matter. And I'm more than happy to let it drop. I've certainly said my piece. Though I request that this thread not be locked as I believe that would imply some sort of wrongdoing.

If bladeforums is in favor of advocating bluffing through lies and threats to get ones way, so be it, but I don't think that is what we are about here.

The fact is, moderators are more than moderately annoyed lately at the trolling we've been seeing. If we over-react or take action without a lot of explanations, that may be our own frustrations.

Like past problems, it is something that should work itself out. It also takes time for new moderators, of whom we have a few, to deal with stuff more smoothly.

I tried to read the "stolen Hinderer" thread and gave up.

So is that to say any action by a mod, legitimately founded or otherwise, is fine just as long as they were having a bad day?

Perhaps it was locked because the advice given to the OP to remedy the issue was to threaten and lie to the unconfirmed thief. Other people also suggested taking more violent actions such as slashing tires and being able to "help" the OP out because people in small towns "run their mouths".

I don't think bladeforums wants to get into the business of being a platform where people suggest immoral, illegal, and violent behavior as a resolution to a problem. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Plus, the supposed victim went home drunk with strangers and left them alone with his expensive weapons. He has no idea what happened. He was drunk and with strangers. And the advice given was more bad decision making like lying, threatening, and physical violence to property and person. That kind of garbage has no place here. Good on the Melvin for shutting it down.
