Why?

I think my state has the one of the worst kinds of knife laws. You can't carry concealed a knife designed for the purpose of "offense or defense." So basically if they don't like your knife they can just say it was designed for combat and prosecute you. Then I guess you would have to go into length showing them proof that it was not made for combat. But do you know what? YOu can't do that with a balisong, becaus they'll just say that the balisong is a martial arts knife and therefore has to be for combat. Ughh, well at least we have some of the most lenient firearms laws.

I think it is true. As someone else says here: it will be safer if criminals don't know who has weapons on him/her and that public is able to defend themselves without relying on 911 that comes late.

Strangely, on the movies, knives are portrayed badly and cops are always late to come to scene, but those who are afraid of knives would never link that with a legally owned weapon the BG's chance of getting them is less . .

With banning of balisong, they are taking away our best folder to be used when it is about life and death, while the BG doesn't give it a damn !

This proves my point beautifully...a point I always try to make.

For defense too...

What business is it of any City, County, Township, Burrough, Village, State or even the Federal Government to decide what is just and proper for you to purchase, possess, carry or use, concealed or not, for your own, common law right of Self-defense?

They are coming after THAT right folks, and everyone should think long and hard before they support ANY Weapons Laws, including Government-sponsored smear campaigns on anything they can declare an "Assault Weapon."
