I was fondlin my 2 dot 112 tonight, and this question popped into my head.

It may be a stupid question, but does anyone know why Buck chose to use brass for the frames of the 110's ? Availability? Cost ?

This may be one that will have to be answered by Chuck or Joe...
But, with all the knowledgeable folks here, maybe not

most likely that it was the material of choice in early 60's
nickel silver is NOT as good a material as yellow or red brass
( the liner lock was discontuned in part for this reason)
stainless is not self lubrication either like brass..
