Why?

I'm going to get an Izula, and for that I definitely want one with the ant logo...

I am not trying to start anything, but may I ask why a logo on a knife is that important? Again, just want to know why.

Let's not be too hard on the questions here. Remember that some folks are new to the ESEE craziness and don't know all the ins and outs of what we produce. Plus, we are just getting settled in to this name change so things are still a bit confusing to those who haven't followed closely on this forum or our web site.

I would guess it's the same reason someone buys brand "A" rather than brand "B" when they may be the same product overall. Branding and markings are important to some and I can understand that. Now, for me, as long as it's the same I could care less what the markings say ;)

Yea, that is what I was thinking. A knife is a knife, with or without a logo, doesn't really matter to me. As long as it gets the job done.

Psst...the ant is on the other side. :D

Oh... There are two different versions and one has the ant on the left side (ESEE) and the other has it on the right (RAT Cutlery). If I'm following this correctly.

Someone in the photo thread was "complaining" :D that he had managed to collect one of each version and then the name change came along...

At least it's not like Zippo collecting.

Yet!

i'm a graphic artist by trade (even if i'm currently between jobs because of vision problems and the economy) so trust me when i say that catalog/website/stock photos in general are very bad at not always showing every model and variation of a product. sometimes the pix are of prototypes, sometimes the photo gets reversed or whoever is putting things together only has the file name to go by and might not know the details of the product.sometimes it's just a "representative sample" and not even the right model. all this happens for various reasons, and something like a recent name and logo change doesn't help things. i've seen all kinds of problems with photos. sometimes you can catch 'em all, sometimes you can't. there may not be time, it might just not get spotted, or the product might not be available to get to the photographer, stuff happens,

if you're concerned about getting a specific variation, you may need to check with the vendor.

Again, where are all of your x-ray glasses. I bought a pair out of a comic book when I was 6 years old and still use them today to check out hooters.
