Wich manufacturer makes the sharpest knives ???

I have a Microtech Mini Socom that came scary sharp as well as many Cold Steel AUS-8A knives and 154CM Blue class Benchmades.

I've bought knives from Al Mar,EKI,Spyderco,Benchmade,Kershaw,Boker,SOG & Buck.IMO All of these come very sharp out of the box.If I had to pick one though...it would be Spyderco.Every Spyderco I've ever bought was scary sharp out of the box.Must be the angle or something,I don't know:confused:

AlMar,Emerson & SOG are very close finalists though
This would make a good poll:)

Thanks, Vassili.

That's good work Vassili. Having the numbers next to the knife mean a lot more than just saying "scary sharp", "shaving sharp" etc. It represents a lot of work on your part and I'd like to thank you for taking your time to do this.

Mine's less objective but typically Spydercos and Kershaws are/seem the sharpest for me. I'd put my Stretch 2 above the S90V millie, the JYD 2 ti/sg2 next as I don't have any friction forged blades.

Production knives seem to be getting better and better. Joe

The Spyderco ZDP Caly3s are nice and crisp out the box as were the EKI Persians i have.
My Krein regrind and a most of the customs i own are sharper, but then they should be :).

Another vote for the Spydies.

Everyone I've ever bought has come with very sharp blade.

I'm sure spydercos, benchmades, kershaw and maybe the occasional coldsteel (it really depends whihc you get) are sharp, but I hear the most connsistent SCARY sharp out of the box knives are bark rivers.
EVERY single one is "scary" sharp.
:D
I give my vote to bark river.

My sharpest "out of the box" knives have all been Spydercos. Specifically, the American made ones. The edge retention on those knives has been unbelievably good- my Paramilitary will still shave, after several months of every day carry and use- with no sharpening at all.

My sharpest "out of the box" fixed blade was my Spyderco Mule. That sucker's crazy sharp! A close runner up was my Hog Edition Busse ASH-1. It would (and still will) push cut newsprint right out of the gate. Not bad for a knife almost 1/3" thick!!!

Back when the 'Bladeauction' site was up I got a Paragon folder. I had a boo-boo while wiping it down out of the box and and I wound up finding that piece of my thumb under the table a few days later. That one has been in the box a long time now.

If you want to split hairs almost any blade from scandinavia has also been my choice.
Iv'e had an older Boker that was also scary.

Spyderco and Kershaw have both impressed the hell out of me. From my experience thus far, Cold Steel's edges are pretty good too but I wasn't too impressed with the rest of the knife (Zytel Ti-Lite).

My Helle Harding came sharper than for example Spyderco Centofante-VG10.Very sharp knife that I bought recently is Kizlyar Sterkh NSK.This one seems that it will live longer than I will be.;)
Sorry for my English,I'm foreigner.
