Hi guys, im new on blademaking, im from Argentina, i finished my forge 2 days ago, and now before i start hammering some blades, i want to be safe :)

So i want to know which Respirator and Eye protection recommend me.

I read some post abt 3M products, there are the best for the money?

In my country i can get cheap the 3M 6300 complete for like 60USD (i know is not cheap but is the best price i can get here) :S

Serching ebay i found that for the a little more money (wich shipping and taxes) i can get some 7500 series. this will be better?

What abt eye protection? wich recommend me?

Thanks

I used to wear a half mask (mind you, a cheap one with cartridges) and googles...My 6800 is 3000% more comfortable, and it doesn't fog at all. I would NOT go back.

I went with the "3M 2091 P100 Particulate Filter", but if you plan on sanding micarta, G10, or wood, I suspect a better choice would be the "3M 60921 Organic Vapor Cartridge/P100 Filter".

Word of caution: PLEASE, don't take only my words for your cartridge selection, do your own research! It's YOUR protection! :)

Hold on you need to know your size go try one on some where first . my neighbour just got fit tested and he was a medium and thats the 6800 the 6700 is a small and thats what I am . the 6900 is a large.

I interview people on TV and an eye Dr said for eye protection you need the lens to touch your cheek. All too often something gets flipped up and it goes under a lens into the eye, and then there ya go.

You might want to consider wrap around designs too. As faces vary so much, at least mine does from what is a "standard lens" I found I have to try them on... and cheap isnt in the long run. Hope this helps.
