I would think it was pretty crazy around there, maybe give them a call? Thank you for saying that; much appreciated.
To go further into my experience with the pro pack one and hopefully address some of your questions:
I wanted the wicked edge primarily to put a consistent edge on my knives. Don't get me wrong, I know how to sharpen free handed but just don't prefer it. I figure I have all these expensive (to me) knives and want a sharpener that can achieve consistent angles to take advantage of the steels used in them. I also wanted it to correct some of the uneven bevels on a few to an exact match. I have a sharpmaker with the diamond and UF rods and its a great system. I just wanted some more grits and options than two angle settings. So my wife, being the great lady she is, got me one for xmas.
By time I received the pro pack one I had studied pretty much every youtube video that related to it. I have used the pro pack one on about 6 knives now. I am very impressed; after watching the videos it has been a pretty easy learning curve. I'm not saying I've got it mastered; but I'm achieving great results so far. I re-profiled my Para2 S30V and can't believe how sharp it got. For my functions, it meets my needs and then some. The pro pack 1 will get you 30* inclusive and pretty close to a mirror edge, which is all I want/need for the knives I have here with me. I will probably buy the upgrade kit once we get back to the states and I can get into my other knives, but the pro pack 1 is just fine for now.
I hope this helps some; I am by no means an expert but if I can answer any of your questions just ask away.
