This is great, good to get answers from the sorce!
Will you be able to do a 10in. pluse blade on this system?

Tiny86, thanks for your question. It is one that we get quite often. We have been able to sharpen up to 16 inch chef's knives on the unit with no problem. -Devin

MORIMOTOM

I'm interested in the Busse Knives, especially the INFI steel. I went to their website but only see two knives there. Where can I find others like the folder shown in the picture you posted? Is the steel all they say it is?

sorry for the confusion. the folder is made by joe caswell, the other is a busse game warden.

Another hijack in progress:

M...how do you like that Caswell EDC? Oh, and don't you have a Lightfoot knife or two? I'd appreciate if you could hit me with a PM and share your perspectives on those knives and/or Yuna, Jim Burke, Patrick Nihiser, Peter Carey, Kirby Lambert or Les Voorhies. You seem to be a pretty ecclectic knife guy.

Ok...hijack over.

Devin, I'd like to know if you own any Busses as well...just as an aside.

Well, okay. So I guess I have to 'fess up and tell you that I don't yet own a Busse knife. Its true. There it is, out there for the whole world to see! That's not to say that won't own one. They look like pretty interesting knives and the steel is particularly interesting. I definitely want to put one into our sharpener and try it out.

I went to their site and I only see two knives available. Am I missing something or is that all they have at any given time? If there is another source for their knives where there is a greater selection, lemme know. I just might lay down the $$$ for one. Although, as you might imagine, scratch is tight when you are starting a new business and have been bleeding it out for over a year...!

I hafta admit that wasn't really fair. You kinda got drawn into this and now we're baiting ya. :D

If you want to learn more about Busses you're in the best place. There are also some great sites at which to browse and see what designs you like. The two most informative in terms of models are www.bussecollector.com and www.hogcult.com.

Once you've done your browsing and are more keen on finding something to purchase, the Busse Equipment Exchange here on BF.com is probably the best place to find what you're looking for. The other main spot is www.bussecompanystore.com.

As for the BusseCombat website, yes, they typically offer one blade style for any period of time, which you can purchase in CG (combat grade) finish, which lets you choose a coating and a slab color/material, or the LE (limited edition) model which typically comes with a satin finish and tigerhide micarta magnum (bigger) slabs. There is usually a difference in thickness between the CG and LE versions as well. And as Guyon noted in another similar thread, lately we have been seeing the competition(?) finish, which has been sold as special editions and is somewhat rough-looking, but still attractive. Once Busse Combat decides to stop offering whatever blade is on the website, they typically don't get made again for a long while.

Welcome, again, Devin and look around. If you're a knife guy (which you obviously are) you'll find something you like.:D
