My personal testimony:

When I received my kit I tore it out of the box and set it up. I sharpened an old grizzled Kershaw Ken Onion Chive framelock. In less than ten minutes I had a newly cut and polished 20 degree bevel on my edge. The edge is mirrorlike. This blade has never been this sharp. It easily shaves hairs from my arm. This in the first try in under 10 minutes! If you cannot sharpen a blade with this system do yourself a favor and throw out all your knives! My kitchen knifes cut tomatoes by dropping them on the blade!

For user instructions and more information please have a look at the demonstration video.

I actually have one complete Pro System in inventory.

I did a small knife show/SoCal Slice bladesports event last sunday, sharpened over 20 blades in a couple hours, with every owner saying they had never seen their blade so sharp. This system is the real deal!

I am awaiting re-stock Friday. These new inventory will be short the ceramic stones that will be backordered until first week of January.

How are these systems for sharpening small slipjoints? I mean some of the baldes are less than 2" long. When clamping them does the clamp get in the way of the stones when holding a 3/8 wide blade? Does the weight of the handle, additional blades in the folder, etc make it hard to hold the small blade for sharpening? Thanks.

Highly recommend theese guys. Here is mine, very effective and simple to use.

Both systems come with the wood base? Any options for getting them with the granite base?

The systems do not include a base. I have both bamboo and 'paperstone' bases in stock. Think of paperstone as similar to G10.

Bases are $50ea shipped.

Granite is not currently available.

The clamp has terrific force. It is able to clamp a large bowie mid-blade without the weight of the handle causing sag. The additional blades do not come into play in any way, they will be safely stowed in the handle until it is their turn to be sharpened!

The 3/8" blade must be clamped very close to the tip of the vise. The vise will not get in the way. Because the blade will only be ~0.25" from the tip of the vice, the angles are less than marked on the device. Those angles are for a blade positioned 5/8" above the vice. To get a 20degree bevel you will need to put the stones on approximately the 22-23 degree marks. This also helps with getting the stones off the vice.

Only basic systems currently available until January. I will accept backorders on the additional stones/strops for purchases of Pro Systems.

Yes, I'll 2nd that is a great deal! I got mine directly from WE. Pick a few older blades to practice with and learn and break in the stones. Freaking incredible results! Just the 600 grit with this is really pretty great and WAY BETTER than most factory edges. Kick it up a few notches from there and be careful, because we are talking scalpel sharp...beyond hair popping and the mirror edge is just beautiful and impressive if you have the desire to take it to that level. BTW, I in no way represent the company nor am I a dealer/seller of this product, but it is really this good.

Pro system not available until february. All who order basic systems between now and then will get first dibs on upgrades to pro then. I am not accepting back orders, just tell me if you want to urgrade then and i will contact you.

What upgrades does the pro system include that the basic does not have?

1200/1600 ceramic stones
14/10/5/3.5 diamond/leather strops

These are out of stock until end of January - earliest.

I have 8 basic kits remaining.

I have been wanting to get one of these. They look like a great sharpener.
Do you happen to know how much the upgrade kit to the Pro system will cost??
Thanks, Shane

The pro system I have sold previously did not have the 800-1000 diamond stones. This was $100 more. This next wave of product may have different components and I will reserve quotation until then. Please accept $100 as a base upgrade price and let me see what comes next.

Nothing between the 600 and 1200?

The 800-1000 diamond strop (which I do have and use) has not been available for 8 weeks. Likely it will be available in February when the next wave of product lands.

I promise the best deals I can provide to my Bladeforum friends when they land. Until then just a few Gen 2 basic systems left until February.

I can take orders but will be out of town until New Years. All orders placed between then and now will ship 1/3/11

Merry xmas!
