WICKED EDGE. Should I pull the trigger?

Getting a WEPS has changed my attitude about using my knives, now I know that if I push it and damage the edge I have the capability to fix it with ease

The other day I had to cut some wire and used my Gayle Bradley without hesitation for this reason.

I have the Wicked Edge, and it is the best I have ever used. I have been sharpening meat knives and such for over 20 years, and really love this sharpener. I ordered mine last January, and finally received it in April, and after a few emails of my disappointing order, the president of the company added extra strop's (down to .5 mic) and overnight-ed it. It is so easy to put an incredible edge on a knife. I took it to bear camp and sharpened over 20 knives. Some good, some junk, but all could shave your face! Just tonight I put a razor edge on a 50 year old old timer.

I love it!

You hit on one of their strong points there, actually. Clay is a REALLY stand-up guy, who will without fail go the extra distance to make SURE you are happy with your tool. At one point I had been talking on the WEPS forum about a plan I had to take a bit of excess wobble out of my guide arms (perhaps half a degree, but it annoyed me) and he just upped and sent me a new pair of arms with pre-installed washers from a test lot they had!

The only other companies that I've found that have even close to that level of direct interaction are Ben Dale and the EdgePro, and Mike Stewart with Bark River knives. It's REALLY nice to be able to just call up and talk to the boss if you need to.

Well said! I feel the same way. I used to hesitate to use my knives for some things because of the limitations of the sharp maker, but no worries now! There is a learning curve......practice on cheap knives first.
