Hello,
No this isn't sexist.
However, my wife (who works at the local mall)
recently went through my collection of knives to organize and tally them.
(of course she didn't tell me this before hand, and just piled a bunch of them up, and did some other things that made me a bit unhappy)
We're newly married, so she just doesn't understand yet.
anyway, there was a young man out in front of the mall who pulled out a knife for something, and she said to him, "I was counting my husband's knives, and he has over 95."
Then the young man responded: "What were you doing counting his knives?"
Who says there's something wrong with kids these days? :D

Hey walkingman, you only have 95 knives. We are going to have to work on that. Why don't you give me a call and we can make it 96 or 97. :D

Tom

Walking Man,
Go into her closet and count how many pairs of shoes she has.
Then dump her.
Jocko

She should have known how many knives you had BEFORE she married you.
:)

My guess is that she is angry about something else.

I listen to too much Dr. Laura.

You should have got really upset and then when she asked why, told her: "I thought I had 100!!"
Cheers,
Steve

PS: If you count her shoes, each shoe counts as one...

It was nice of her to tell you how many she counted. Now when you buy more you know to put the new ones in a different place! Thanks, honey! :D

Reminds me of an EX girlfriend who took it upon herself to show some friends of hers my arrowhead collection. She didn't talk to me for 2 days but I got the point made. So to speak....

Maybe next time she might also clean them and sharpen them? Counting is only half the job :) Have you talked to her about that option?
Advice: keep at least 10 feet distance while you ask that :D and be sure to have locked away your throwers (if any).

I always just tell my wife, " I got a GREAT Deal on this one, so I am going to resell it on eBay..." ;) Luckily for me she married me knowing I was completely helpless when it comes to knives!

She was probably just checking to make sure that you're properly insured. (Always put the best construction on everything.)

And the correct married response would have been, "95? Are you sure? I thought it was only 92. Thank you. I'll call the insurance company tomorrow morning and get our policy increased." She'll get the message.

nice one, WM....

Give that kid a silver dollar and tell him to come buy anytime. :D

Actually, she was just trying to "help" me out by organizing my stuff.
I'm in school, and I work 45+ hours each week. We've had a couple arguments about her "organizing" my things, and even though I'm still working on putting away a number of boxes, I'd still rather know where everything is, than have it put away for me. (so I won't know where it is)
And yes, we have worked things out pretty well.

Same here. :D 300+ and I gave up counting.

Glad you weren't harsh with her -- it's never good to foster a "me vs. his knives" mentality in her mind. Women know that we guys need a hobby.

I am not worried about the numbers, but moreso if they learn the value! All mine are customs that are quite valuable.

They better learn the value. How would you like to come home someday and hear, "The plumber needed a knife to clean some gunk off the pipe so I lent him one of yours." :p

My wife and I am in competiton to see who can have the most! Paul

Yes it is. nobody, not even you, is entitled to determine what is anyone else's "place." i hope she doesn't find out that you feel as though she should be "put in her place," for nobody with any self-respect would stay in such a situation.

respect.

peace.
